Jennifer Finney Boylan is the author of 16 books, including She’s Not There, the first bestselling work by a transgender American; her most recent book is the novel Long Black Veil. She is the inaugural Anna Quindlen Writer in Residence at Barnard College of Columbia University, and also serves on the faculty of the Bread Loaf Writers’ Conference. Since 2018 she has been a member of the Board of Trustees of PEN America; for seven years before that she was a Director of GLAAD, including four years as board co-chair. She is a Contributing Opinion Writer for the New York Times, where her column appears biweekly. Jenny lives in Belgrade Lakes, Maine, and in New York City.
